Where do you get shrimps on the barbie? Where do you sit around a fire drinking beer and singing songs? Where do you get a fright as you ride over a snake in the middle […]

Last year on my ride around the South Island I ran out of time to cycle the Molesworth. So this remote high country station road was on the top of my list for this year. […]

I don’t like rain. Some people might say coming to NZ in autumn might not be the brightest idea. But I have been very lucky with the weather these past few months. I had lots […]

April 5th and it's snowing! ❄️
Any day is a good day to ride your bike through the forest. But today starting with a easter-egg-hunt followed by a leisurely breakfast was especially nice. Tara got an old camera I used a decade ago in Australia and picture nr 5 is hers 📸😊.
The eggs are ready, it's become a tradition to use pretty much anything I find around the house, and anything I find around the garden to naturally dye eggs. In this batch I used turmeric, stinging nettles, beetroot, red cabbage, coffee, avocado and onion skins.. And a whole bunch of leaves & flowers. A few are hard boiled and the rest is blown out so we can hang them in our branch. I'll be hiding a bunch in the garden tomorrow morning 🥚🌼. Happy Easter!
Palmsunday🌿 we had a proper palmsunday parade this year! Baked breadroosters and more spring cookies. Most of the day we spent decorating for easter next week. Trying different techniques to dye eggs and got our easter branch on the table.🥚
Spring equinox! What did you do to celebrate the arrival of spring? We made edible flower cookies and celebrated with friends 🌸
The lambs are playful and adorable, so nice to have a shepherd for an uncle!
Did you know you can drink the sap of a Birch tree?
So grateful to live where we do! We step out the door and there's pike paths like this all around.. Then we get home a watch a sunset like this right from the yard😍
Another day tracking, 🐺 but soon she decided it's just way more fun to BE the wolf than to look for tracks 😂
